A Financial Services firm, offering a broad range of consulting and investment banking services expanded its operation by acquiring their corporate valuation consulting division from one of the world's foremost providers of risk and valuation services.
Immediately after the acquisition, the firm had plans to relocate their data center from New York to Chicago. They also required 24x7 support for their UNIX Servers and Oracle Databases which operate their Lawson Financial Systems.
Knowledge Solutions business practice team met with the firm to understand their plans for relocating the UNIX Servers to a new data center in Chicago. Our team also discussed various options to provide the necessary UNIX and Oracle Administration support to keep their Lawson Financial System operational, secure and available to their end-users 24x7. Our technical team assisted in creating and executing a plan to move the servers, reconfigure the servers for a new network, test the functionality in the new location and establish a new backup and recovery process. The hardware move was orchestrated on time and on budget. After the Systems went live in Chicago, Knowledge Solutions Technology Team assumed the responsibility for monitoring and maintaining the UNIX Servers and Oracle Databases which supported the Lawson Applications. All support incidents are tracked and monitored on a daily basis and monthly statistical reports are provided to the firm which track trends and issues. Support is provided remotely from our Bridgewater, NJ Solutions Center.
Today the firm is successfully operating their Lawson Systems and Applications out of their Chicago Data Center while Knowledge Solutions provides round the clock remote support and maintenance. The firm has saved an estimated 35% on their UNIX and Oracle support costs due to our flexible pricing model. They have achieved their goal of outsourcing support while maintaining a high level of technology expertise to keep their systems operational and secure. All backup and recovery services are also provided by Knowledge Solutions.
By outsourcing the day to day support of the Lawson Servers and Databases the Firm was able to redirect its internal resources to work on more value added projects and business activities. Weekly status calls are held with the firm to discuss special requests, new projects, resource needs and overall satisfaction of our services.
